Kennedy woman injured as car crashes into tree

POLAND—A Kennedy woman was injured after her westbound car crashed into a tree on Route 394 shortly after 12:30 p.m. Friday. Maryjo Newman, 38, was being treated in WCA Hospital, Jamestown, for injuries deemed non-life-threating, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office said. The crash remains under investigation.

Traffic stop in Arcade yields marijuana charge

ARCADE—Austin L. Fahey, 20, of Arcade, was charged with possession of marijuana after Wyoming County sheriff deputies stopped him for traffic infractions on Route 39 in the Town of Arcade at 1:48 a.m. Thursday, authorities said. He was given an appearance ticket for an Arcade Town Court session June 14.
